How do you define success? I define success when my daughter looks at me and says, "Mom, my birthday party was perfect"! Abby celebrated her birthday tonight with 14 of her closest friends (and if you know anything about Abby they are all her "best friends") here at the house with a swim party.
Yesterday there was a 20% chance of rain, today it was bumped to 60%. Three hours before the party, it poured down rain and thundered and Abby cried like her heart would break. She was convinced that there would be no party. We knew there would be a party, we just didn't know what we were going to do with a house full of kids. I begged God to allow me no rain for a few hours for this party and being the gracious loving God that He is, he granted my request. It rained when the kids first got here but it didn't thunder so they began swimming and didn't stop for over two hours.
We had hot dogs, veggies and dip, spinach dip and watermelon and the kids ate as if they hadn't eaten in years. My beachy cupcakes were a huge hit with the kids and her gift of Jonas Brother concert tickets from Mom and Dad were a huge hit. She won't celebrate the actual date for another four days but I still want to say, Happy 8th Birthday Abby!! You are a blessing to all of us and you are just what God had in mind for our daughter.

Happy 5th Birthday Maddie!
Where did the time go? Five years ago we had a brand new sweet little bundle of joy and now she has turned 5. She had a wonderful birthday weekend. Friday night we had a small swim party with her best friend, Kyla and her family and then Saturday she and Kyla shared a party at the local bounce place. She and Kyla share birthdays on two days apart. They had the best time!! She is still at that wonderful age that every present excites her no matter how big or how small.
