Busy Weekend

It was a busy day today with trying to prepare everything for Easter and also accomplish some laundry while I was at it. We did take some time out today to color eggs (that will all get used in Bud's mom's delicious deviled egg recipe) and go to the Easter Egg hunt at our church before I taught in the second grade classroom for our Saturday night Easter service. I am tired just typing it out. I am headed to bed now but will be up bright and early to start the preparations for our Easter meal that we are having with friends tomorrow afternoon and to get everyone ready for church so that we can be on time. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

P.S. The two additional children in the Easter Egg pics are the twins that we watch on Saturday for a good friend. We haven't been crazy enough to add any additional children to the family!!

Goallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll !

Maddie's first day of soccer was today and she practiced and scrimmaged like she had been doing it forever (think we are a little biased?). She dribbled her way down the field and got her very first goal on her very first day. Would have loved to have a picture of it but her mom blamed her dad for moving the camera when it turned out that she had moved the camera herself and then forgot where it was. So, we had to settle for a victory pose when she got home!!!!

Nurse of Excellence

I received a phone call this week that I had been chosen as one of the honoree's for the Atlanta Journal Constitution's Nurse of Excellence Award. Out of 305 nominee's I was one of 10 selected for this honor. They are going to do an article about me for the AJC healthcare supplement that comes out and I am also going to be honored at a luncheon. It is however my honor to care for the patients that I have and to have been a part of their fight.

A Tale of Two Sisters

How could two sisters be so different and yet so alike? Every night they fight about being too hot or too cold or "she's touching me" and yet they enjoy sleeping in Abby's queen sized bed together. Everyone who knows us knows how horrible my girls sleep and how often they used to end up in our bed sometime in the middle night. Notice I say used to. Bud and I finally figured out that putting them together in the same bed meant that we might have our own uninterrupted night of sleep. Here they are sacked out and showing just a little bit of sisterly love. Where is Destiny you might ask? She is happily in the top bunk in her room where she doesn't have to share her bed with anyone.

Facts of Life

Remember the "Facts Of Life." I loved to watch that show and am not ashamed to admit that I can still sing the theme song.

You take the good, you take the bad,you take them both and there you have
The facts of life, the facts of life. There’s a time you got to go and show
You’re growin’ now you know about the facts of life, the facts of life.
When the world never seems to be livin up to your dreams
And suddenly you’re finding out the facts of life are all about you, you.

Anyway, I digress. This weekend our church had their women's retreat and the theme was, "The Facts of Life" and the speaker was none other than Blair, I mean Lisa Welchel. I really enjoyed hearing her speak and many things she said spoke directly to me. It was a great weekend and spending time with my friends Cindy and Rebecca always makes me laugh. The hardest laugh of all came when we discovered that I had left my suitcase sitting at home in the middle of the bedroom. Thank God for WalMart and clearance racks or I would have come home wearing the same scrubs that I wore up there. I hadn't really wanted to go but went anyway and I was so glad that I did. I reconnected with old friends, made some new ones and came away with a greater appreciation of how God uses circumstances to refine us. I figure by the time that I am done with him refining me I should be pure gold!!!!!
